MONKEYS MISSING FROM SCOTTISH ZOO
12 January 2018
Two monkeys have reportedly disappeared from Galloway Wildlife Conservation Park, a closed zoo in Kirkcudbright, Scotland, and are believed to have been stolen.
Two cotton-top tamarins, one male and one female, went missing from the site, which is not open to the public having closed last year following a decline in visitor numbers.
Born Free hopes that these animals are found safe and well and that they have not made their way into the UK’s thriving market for pet primates.
Born Free is calling for a complete ban on the trade and private keeping of all species of primate in the UK. You can read more on our website here.
