GIVING ORANGUTANS A HELPING HAND

Thank you! Three months ago, we kicked off our campaign to raise awareness of the plight of the critically endangered orangutan. 

Facing serious threats to their survival, both in the wild and in captivity, we highlighted our support for the Orangutan Foundation’s life-saving rescue and conservation work in Indonesia Borneo, as well as our work worldwide to prevent orangutan exploitation in captivity.

Sadly, there’s fewer than 100,000 orangutans left in the wild. And there’s thousands held in captivity, including more than 1,100 in zoos alone.

But, thanks to your support, there is hope. During our campaign, there’s been four more births in the protected reserve where the Orangutan Foundation introduces orangutans back to the wild. We’ve also introduced you to some of the young orangutans being prepared for life in the wild, celebrated the many successes of the Orangutan Foundation’s reintroduction work, and told you all about Post 25, the guard post we fund thanks to your support so that wild orangutans are protected.

Thanks to your generosity and support, we can continue our work to protect the world’s remaining orangutan population.
