Our charity was officially launched on 19th March 1984, at London’s Commonwealth Institute, by our Co-Founders Dame Virginia McKenna, Bill Travers MBE and their eldest son Will Travers OBE, together with our Founder Patron Dame Joanna Lumley. We pledged to be a voice for wild animals and, from those humble beginnings and with you by our side, Born Free has grown into a global force for wildlife.
Now, you’re invited to get even more involved in wild care and conservation, with our new wallchart listing 40 easy, effective ways to help wild animals. From protecting local wildlife to nature-friendly gardening, Born Free’s practical and positive list is ideal for animal lovers of every age. You can share good news, consume less ‘stuff’, or even unleash your inner activist by signing petitions and joining peaceful protests!
Wherever you are, together let’s make the world a better, kinder place and encourage everyone you know to do the same. Just download and print your handy wallchart, then tick off every action you take to help and protect wild animals. Why not challenge yourself and see how many you can complete before the end of the year?
And don’t forget to forward this link to your family, friends and colleagues, so they can get involved too. Share your love of the wild and encourage others to become compassionate crusaders, just like you!
We can’t wait to hear about how you get on. Here’s to the next 40 years and thank you for all you do!
